As many of you may already know, last fall GreenLight signed on to be the exclusive manufacturer of Champ Car World Series Diecast. With the recent announcement of merger between CCWS and the IRL to form one North American open wheel racing series, GreenLight is still planning on producing the 1:18 scale CCWS cars as previously planned. GreenLight has made the following announcement: "GreenLight is proud to announce that we have finalized a die-cast agreement with the Champ Car World Series, allowing us to create authentically licensed replicas of the new DP01 chassis run by all drivers beginning in 2008. GreenLight is releasing a second color scheme of Muscle Car Garage Stock & Cusom Release 4 for one of their retail partners, and they will be releasing this set to hobby dealers as well. The set features all the same castings, with varying color schemes on each car. This set will be available in late July. By having two versions, GreenLight has stated they will be able to keep the run editions lower, and therefore more collectible than they were in Series 3.
